Senior Software Engineer

Our client is a health technology company dedicated to improving healthcare access through an innovative platform that gives members real-time access to their health data. Part of core engineering team, you’ll play a critical role in building a scalable, robust, and highly secure system that will impact millions of users. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will take ownership of key platform components, ensuring they are designed and developed to the highest standards. You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver new features, tackle technical challenges, and shape the future of our system as it scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of the platform, ensuring high-quality, secure, and scalable code.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to brainstorm, design, and implement new features.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges to keep the platform current and high-performing.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Write clean, maintainable code with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Own features and bug fixes from design through deployment and support.
  • Actively engage in agile ceremonies and processes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of building scalable and reliable systems.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices (Agile, TDD, CI/CD).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with:
    • FastAPI, GraphQL, REST APIs
    • Cloud platforms (GCP preferred; AWS also relevant)
    • Webhooks, Docker, event-driven systems, pub/sub patterns
    • Concurrency vs. parallelism, microservices architecture
  • Strong bias for action and initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Working Hours & Location

  • Full-time (approx. 40 hours/week)
  • Fully remote contractor position
